My first Daz Studio render in, oh, five and a half years:

I was trying to both get back to roots (emotions felt and improperly expressed) and stretch my knowledge base out.
Daz Studio compared to Carrara is interesting. I like the native skin shader setting, the DOF camera flexibility (DEAR GOD, YES!), and the light options and just how overall speedy it is. That being said, with Carrara, I've gotten better results from it and it has more options. Daz Studio 4.7 just feels like a bare bones version of Carrara 8.5. Though the biggest thing that got my attention and approval is that previewing animations without rendering does NOT go at three frames per second. I don't know if I'll use it for rendering, I'll stay with Carrara, but for animation, FBX export to Carrara all the way!
