Description
Eyes gleaming like dogs, hissing like cats,The crowd came with lanterns on the stone-ridden path.
There lay the Lord, limp with his prayer,
Accepting the kiss of his betrayer.
The men screeched and mocked, his clothes were torn.
The blood and sweat beaded thick on the thorn.
With hot tools of death his skin was ripped.
His enemy laughing as his body was whipped.
The cross was as heavy as man's darkened sin
When kept from the light and hidden within.
After hours drenched in vermilion hues,
Satan uttered a cry - and payment was due.
Beelzebub writhed, he shuddered with glee,
When the heart of the Lamb gave its last heave.
But how long was victory? How long could he dance?
For that beat of Christ's heart was hardly his last.
Did he think he could win? Dare he threaten the power
Of the strength of God's love, of the peace of his bower?

I like this. =3 The older I get the more I can appreciate this season. Best Christmas ever because I could always keep in mind what it celebrated. Sure to be the deepest Easter with our new church and new understanding.
I'm Orthodox, so my Easter is next week. But happy Easter anyway.
