Description
It's been quite some time since I uploaded new content. I've got a decent backlog of the main story in various states of finish. But I don't plan to post new things there yet until I've drawn the last page of 'The Homecoming.'For now, enjoy this bittersweet mini-drama between the two masks. I hope you enjoy these characterisations. This art style is even further simplified from the previous designs as the emphasis is on story.
Admittedly, it's fluff. But this time, there's a bit of melancholy mixed in.

Damn. Who knew Masks could be so emotional. You definitely took the split identities idea to a whole new level in this one. And it seems like Stanley and his Mask are pretty square with each other compared to Eve. He sort of pulled a fast one on her at the end. Really interesting de-transformation. Great writing for the dialogue too. Every time I thought it might get cheesy you won me over again.Β
Loved this little mini-series.

Iβm definitely entering the sappy telenovela genre with this series xD Itβs been a guilty pleasure writing about their strange dynamics. I also definitely view Stanleyβs Mask as a more world-weary, experienced guy at this point whereas Eveβs the more impulsive upstart. Writing them as vulnerable has also been interesting. Iβve always written Evelyn to be a bit harsh on herself and Eve exhibits those insecurities here.
Iβd definitely like to do a Stanley-centric short at some point since these are often so Evelyn-dominated. Not the Mask. Stanley. But the problem of writing from his point of view (at least for me) is that I often imagine it as if it were ME who was in his position. XD Canβt help but be autobigraphical sometimes.

Sensational! There's a lot of reflection, a real deepful trouble... There's no words. Fantastic, you're a storytelling genius!

I'm just saying you should do a story about the adventures of the Mask and Eve. Like how did Evelyn get the Mask too.

The Gossip in Green series take place outside the main story and follow no plot. It just is.

Thanks Introspection and self-awareness are a lot easier when someone similar is with you. Having two masked characters talking it out makes for interesting conversation.

A lot of very interesting points made in this one. It seems that Eve questions their existence more than Stanley's mask does. Even in your previous pieces of GiG, he is definitely more focused on them and in the moment due to the fact that it was just him for so so long.Β
I especially like how the Mask characters have a completely different identity from the wearers, unlike most that just lose their inhibitions. It definitely opens up the situation for more opportunities.

It's not that 'Stanley's Mask' doesn't have similar questions as Eve does, mind you. I see the Mask as a more grizzled and experienced character than Eve; he's been down this route before, he's had his moment of crisis in the past, he's had a longer existence. And he's surmounted all these issues before.
I've found that the Mask's prior experiences have ultimately led him to be the perfect, comforting figure to Eve in these moments of duress.

It really does, and this extra one off setting is great to have the two masked characters able to actually interact. It's always fun to see what you have in store for them. That and the couples stuff is absolutely adorable.
