honestly though I wish I could switch back and forth like Ranma but with a little more control over it. I'd spend 90% of the time as female but sometimes I do like being a guyΒ

Leaving something open to interpretation is like leaving the door open to nature, you turn your back for 1 minute and all of a sudden your house if filled with weird things your don't want.

I dont care about your transgender fantasy club. Seeing what you think of girls, and the fact that you just assume links body parts, is disgusting.

Not part of that club, they requested it. Only brought it up to counter the charge of transphobia.
As for the sexist charge, I like to think of myself as egalitarian.
Sorry, not sure what you mean by "assume links body parts." Not even entirely sure what part you are taking issues with. The transformation, links identity or the final form?

Links sex. And i still dont see how this isnt transphobic, if link were a trans girl, we wouldnt have huge tits. In all honesty as someone of the trans community, i feel that this is dehumanizing to me, and to my nonbinary friends.

TheMaskofaFox In reply to PAPERFAG [2014-10-13 09:14:41 +0000 UTC]
The art work in question is not transphobic because it does not portray disgust, fear, anger or discomfort towards people who do not conform to society's gender expectations. I would argue it actually embrasses transexuality (a member of society the desire to be considered by society as a member of the opposite sex).
Link is not a trans-woman in this work.
Link identifies as male.
The work depicts Link slowly being turned into a full female against his wishes. Link now finds himself as a trans-man. He is trapped in the body of a female, but identifies as male and wants to turn into a male. A very relatable position for some transgender individuals (but not all).
The art is meant to entertain the fantasy of a male turning into a female (male to female sex change). Again a desire, goal, fantasy or ambition of many trans individuals have, but to avoid generalizations it is noted that this is not a desire of all trans-individuals.
It's not necessary that the breast be large. In the original sketch they only grew to the of the size of second Link from the right. I later change it so there was a greater difference between the last two. (personally perfect well shape breast over large ones)
Again did not mean to offend. Still not exactlly sure how this is dehumanizing. At no point does it convey any attitude that holds tans-individuals as lessers, mere objects or subhuman. It is actually intended to show trans-woman in a relatable and human light. I hope the above explaining clears up some of this misunderstanding.

PAPERFAG In reply to TheMaskofaFox [2014-10-13 20:40:16 +0000 UTC]
Ok, try retyping that in a non-transphobic manner. If you want me to actually read it, remove "transexuality" because that term is offensive and the only people who actually use that term are people who have no idea what transgender means, and are trying to sound smart and mature because they know a word with "sex" in it. "Opposite sex" is honestly one of the most dehumanizing terms one could use. So, in your opinion, people who are of a nonbinary gender are lairs? They're wrong in your opinion? If you wanted to respectfully portray a trans male you wouldn't draw him all moe. Also, stop making shit up. You know that you wanted to see an overly sexualized FEMALE Link. The only reason why you're bringing up "trans male" is because you know I'm right.
This is dehumanizing because if Link were a boy, girl, or nonbinary, he would have the same body, hair, clothes, everything. Just because he is now a girl doesn't mean he has to be a sex target.Β

TheMaskofaFox In reply to PAPERFAG [2014-10-14 04:05:08 +0000 UTC]
I think that you are misunderstanding me. My work was not intended in anyway to be transphobic.
If you read my full response, I later acknowledge that transgender does not equal transexuality. (Example: A transgender individual that does not have a desire to be considered the opposite sex and prefers some non-polar sex identity state.) There is nothing wrong with the term "transexuality" as it does accurately describe what some individuals desire (I respect if you do not have that desire, but there are those that do have that desire). "Transphobia" is a broad term that refers to both transexuality and transgender.
I would agree with you that sex is not a binary. I would argue it is a spectrum, with two opposite poles on each side.Β There is a female polar and a male polar. Between those two polars is what you would call the "non-binary sex".
Gender on the other hand is a social construct that changes over time. It too I would argue has a spectrum (in North American society) with feminine(girl) and masculine(boy) as polars and a whole lot in between. Gender is different from sex because being a social construct the poles themselves can also move.
Putting the above argument aside for now I think we come to the really issue you have with the art work in questions, which is the "overly sexualizedΒ FEMALE Link" and non-binary sex.
The work in question is sexual as it depicts the change from one sex to the other, but I do not think that Links final female form was "overly" sexualized toward the female pole.
I do not think "nonbinary gender are lairs." I agree that their is a non-polar gender. Further more I agreed, that if link was a boy, girl or nonbinary, Link could have the same body. This is because gender is a social construct. However, that would be a different piece of art work and not the one I created. As for the piece of art I created Link remains a boy through out, but his sex is change to that of a female. This results in Link becoming a trans-man.
I am just trying to create a dialogue in which we can resolve/discover our disagreement. Labeling my work as transphobic without understanding my non-transphobic motivation for creating it will only hurt your cause. I hope we can come to some common understanding.
