It's true; if a real zombie apocalypse broke loose there won't be so much humor and the rest of the survivors would probably be infected during the fights. Also, there's a lot more attention to detail in Metro 2033.

Detail has nothing to do with realism. The survivors in Left for dead are immune to the disease and I'm sure they aren't the only ones. Btw there is also humor in Metro, just a bit less, because it is based on a story that is serious, Left for dead just takes it a bit looser.
