As a young Christian, I was graced with the protective bubble of a positive group of believers surrounding me. But after spending some time away from the missions field, out on my own in the crazy new world of adulthood, I realized that I really thought I had all the answers, that somehow any challenge I'd face would prove nothing at all because Jesus was added to my arsenal, and so the devil couldn't touch me. But the devil is not some little garter snake that's gotten stepped on. He's called a dragon for a reason. He's ancient, and powerful, and good at what he does; killing, stealing, destroying, lying, breaking down our faith in God and His goodness. Until recently I've been awkwardly stumbling over life in a mixture of depression and hope, unsure of how to take the hits being thrown at me. Jesus may have won the battle, but I still have to fight. It hurts. It's not easy. But I need to push through it. I need to stand firm and take the hits as they come. I will not be shaken. I stand on the Rock.

The devil is definitely a sneaky one. There's so many ways he can go about and break you down, even in ways you did not expect.

Whoa-ho-ho! Awesomeness at its finest! I also understand the difficulty in dealing with depression from an ancient enemy's cruelty. Like anyone, but sometimes it can get too hard. I think I'm going through learning to........not face things alone. However, even as dangerous as the enemy is, he's also the biggest loser, God already won the battle at least.

Thank you. I'm not sure if I have depression, but I know it's hard for me to go to people about my struggles as well. And it's true, he has lost the battle. He's already defeated. It's just that, people have told me that not only should I rely on God, but I also need to do my part. He won't decide my life for me. He will guide it, but I need to take that steps.
