"The already blistering air became so cold it was almost impossible to breathe, the mist from my breath formed into an almost fog around me as the air became so intensely still which is when I saw it. I did not let out a sound, damning my pounding heart as I could have sworn its pounding echoed around me in the air of the snow covered forest. Only a few feet away from me I could see it float past me, the wind picked up, transforming the still snow into a blizzard around it. I did not breathe, I did not even blink, not even as the ice and snow lashed at my eyes. If I weren't yet frozen from the cold I was frozen on my place due to fear what may happen next."

"Wraiths are terrifying creatures only found during the long kaamos nights. When one is seen, it is believed that the wraith has come to take the soul of the next person to die in the vicinity of the area it was seen. Sometimes this belief causes people to go into a state of hysteria to make sure they aren't the one whose soul is taken. Wraiths often linger in an area for several moon cycles during kaamos, but disappear once it is over, therefore they are only seen in the north during winter."
