Oh yeah, he's got a lot of points invested in fighting and swordsmanship.

You are a great writer and even though your overall completion of the pages suffered this round due to time constraints and the such, I feel like you've improved as an artist as well while working on this OCT. You depiction of Bupsy always had a great style whenever you drew him this round!
I love the characterizations, story arc, suspense etc....

Aaa thanks! I'm really relieved to see so many people enjoyed the story despite the art! And yeah I'm definitely happy with how I've been improving over the year. Didn't notice it too much until I re-read my audition and round 1. Definitely no huge style changes or anything this year, but I feel like everything is sort of refining itself a bit.

As long as you were happy with the result, (and it shows), you know it improves the whole process.
You make me want to join an OCT, even. lol I don't think I have the drive or motive to do one though. But the want is slowly building.

It's a lot of fun, but it's a lot more work than I initially realized. It takes a ton of effort and commitment , especially in the long run after the hype dies down and you realize you've only been doing this one thing for almost a year. The experience has been helpful and I feel like I've learned a lot, but hot dang I really have the itch to get to work on other projects, and I know I can't because of HL.
It's sort of a love/hate relationship, but it's all honestly worth it between what you learn but also the people you meet. The peeps I met when I did Super Money are some of my closest friends now, and I've met a whole lot of other cool people through HL as well. My advice would be to start small with one of the for-fun short OCTs like SMI or Choosan Juan (Which should be having another season soon apparently).

okay dude so I've KIND of had this open in my browser for a few days, no joke. I've reread it a few times and it just stays great! BUT I gotta get around to actually telling you that sometime, so here I am, a bit overdue.
Can I just say that I love the effort you put into writing Bupsy? I noticed right away that you went the extra mile to try and capture his particular kind of vernacular, and MAN do I appreciate that. Even with the time constraints I felt like the right characters got the right amount of screen time, and you tied everything in pretty darn neatly to your main story. Overall I don't really miss the colors or backgrounds because the writing and character work is so solid. FANTASTIC work, dude. This is a really great round. Best of luck in the judging!!

Aaaaa I'm so glad you like it! I was really nervous because I was absolutely giddy reading your round and I was scared I wouldn't return the favor!
I gotta say I love how complex of a character you made Bupsy, and I love how you sort of hid aspects of his character subtly behind dialogue and actions rather than directly stating them. One thing I managed to pick up on was that even though he has to eat kids he actually feels really guilty about it, so I ran with that as one of the main things.
Feel like I messed up the part when he realized he was still a cat compared to how you wrote him seeing that he was a car underneath. I guess at that point I was just trying to wrap things up because the comic was getting really long, so I'm sorry I fuzzed up an aspect of your character for comic length. That part hasn't quite sat right for me over the past few days.

Well, crud.
Sure the art had to suffer a bit due to time constraints, but I could still follow the story. Not only that, I very much enjoyed it. I really like how more plot threads are being weaved together and certain conflicts are resolved neatly, just in time for the big uh-oh at the end. I'm still really enjoying how you handle and depict all of the characters as well.
You're up against some stiff competition in this round, though I'll be happy if either you or SnowontheRadio make it to the final round. I do hope you'll continue this story as an SE, as I would really like to see how it ends.

But yeah, I'd say this is my closest round this whole OCT. Wouldn't be disappointed if I went down either because I loved my opponent's round and they deserve to move on for sure. (And also because I can finish up my story with one SE which is nice)
