This definitely is interesting! I feel like SOMEONE ELSE had to have beheaded them and positioned their bodies just right, in addition to tie the head to the hand. It does seem like a ritual!Β

I don't know I just thought it was a creepy image. Something about head removal and prayer leading to ETERNAL LIFE

To me it seems almost like an evidence photo (paper clip, date written in corner), although it is depicted with a lot of wear and tear, as if it is carried around by someone like a souvenir or something. Well done, creepy and thought provoking.

Yeah! I'm working on a few more of these that will all loosely connect to another picture.

I feel like this has some sort of historical context, but I'm drawing a blank. But hey, it's a deviation that's saying something so I'll like.

I am guessing they are the Tibetan monks who were beheaded while still maintaining their praying position?

I don't know what you are trying to representοΌbut the revolution was not even led by TibetenοΌnor monksοΌbut the military officers of Qing dynasty in charge of Tibet who were not Tibeten nether. I don't see where these head-chopped monks come from.

I don't think they were chopped, but some unrelated phenomenon that just happened to be happening around the same time as the incident you are referring to.
Notice that the hair bun is tied to the wrist, apparently holding the head upright with the string. Even if a Monk's muscle memory could keep their beheaded bodies upright long enough for full rigor to keep them up even longer, I don't see how they could have arranged the string before hand, or why their executioners would bother. Also, THERE IS NO BLOOD. They should be swimming in it. Again, why would the executioner clean them up and display them this way? Why not hang them from a tree with the heads on pikes, if they want to make that sort of point?
Something FAR stranger is going on here...π€π±π»
