There are different ways to bring them back to normal, like with trigger words and antidotes, even so the formula eventualy runs out...maybe

Anybody else curious how those chocolates would affect non-humans? If Ms. Snape dumps them down a drain, they can affect Moaning Myrtle, or maybe make their way out into the lake.
