Description This is a cross I made as an assignment in my religeous themes in art class.

The repeated text can be read as either "forgive them Father" or "Father forgive them."

My motivation for the forgiveness theme was a specific criticism of some of the portrayal of Catholicism at my (Catholic) school.

The construction is just two 2x4's. I did all the carving with a Dremel tool. It is stained. The lettering was carved after the stain for the lighter effect.
I originally intended to stain the letters red, but it looked good enough to get a good grade (and the teacher liked me...). I figured I'd do that later, still might.

Look closely and notice it was photographed resting on the ground, upside-down.
