If you want my opinion, The gods should have interviened and gave Jack a reward for his long pain and suffering. (SDude's beeen thruogh heck and back and to be honest, getting the girl would have been a just reward..
Excellent optional finish.. Too bad Gennedy T. didn't see this possibility..

If you read any old plays and mythological accounts, the gods usually take one look at the good outcome for the world that was created, decree "job well done, gents!", and leave it at that. They really don't give a flying fig about individual lives.
