You did a very lovely job ^^ I see that you went with the Tokyo version of tying the obi ^^ The hikizuri is also very pretty ^^

All thanks to ~BazookaBaby ! Couldn't have done it without her expertise in dressing someone in this sort of wardrobe.

Lol, well it is a very complicated thing to wear, isn't it? ^^ I have a couple kimono of my own, and although I enjoy wearing them, they are quite complicated, so I imagine a hikizuri outfit would be a puzzle in itself ^^ To think real Maiko and Geisha wear them on a daily basis really shows how much they should be respected ^^

Tell me about it! I really had to pay attention to the way I sat, the way I walked, everything! If I didn't take small enough steps, I'd slide out of my shoes. If I didn't sit up straight, the kimono would punish me for it. And to think Geisha did this while performing or serving people? All while still maintaining a modicum of grace? To be respected, indeed!

Did? They still do ^^ Maiko too. I think the Maiko regalia is quite a bit more uncomfortable because they they have the much bigger obi that also sits up much higher on their torso. Plus they get their natural hair done, instead of having the option of wearing a wig. Of course Geisha can also get their natural hair done, but they normally only do that for events like Tea Ceremony ^^

Very true! I hope some day I might be able to meet a Geisha or watch a performance some day. Maybe some time here when I have enough of a travel budget. My poses here no doubt pale in comparison, I'm sure!
That's interesting info about the Maiko as well. Thanks for sharing!

No problem ^^ I've been studying them for about a year now but I swear, I never get tired of it! I've gotten to the point where I know a lot of names and can identify a few maiko and Geiko by name just from looking at them (Geiko is the name of Geisha in Kyoto. The only Tokyo Geisha I know the names of are Chiyomi-san and Eitaro-san, he's pretty easy to spot because he's the only male practicing Geisha, though XD. I don't know about any of the hangyoku (Tokyo Maiko) though, and I still don't completely understand their customs, since they're a bit different from the Kyoto Maiko.) And I'm sure you did better than most dear ^^ Of course Maiko and Geiko wear kimono at all times, except their rare days off, even when they're out running errands, they'll wear more casual Kimono, so it's no surprise they know how to move in them much easier. ^^
