Initial sketches for a personal brief - 'Dogfight'. I set myself a brief to keep my portfolio development on the go and wanted to make a bunch of designs around the idea of a dog warrior.I will colour and adjust these later but i really love the sketches as they are ^^

Hm, depends on what the purpose of the art is. I personally think that more detail is better. It makes the character more original and interesting to view. But if the character design is for, say, a comic or cartoon, then some simplification is a good thing. If it's for your portfolio though, I would go as detailed as possible without driving yourself crazy.
