Ok, I sent nearly all day casting yesterday and almost finished everything.

One of the thighs need to be drilled still so I used the original clay sculpt here so I could string her.

I only need to cast the hands and that's all!

LOng Time, no talk! This reminds me of The Lady Amalthea transformation sequence. Are you going to create anymore Lady Amalthea dolls?

TheMushroomPeddler In reply to swandog [2008-01-29 00:48:23 +0000 UTC]

I am not sure of the price just yet (still working out the costs of making them), but I can add wings for sure. Have you seen the wings I make?

Here are links to some examples (let me know if you'd like to see more.):

Ooh, perfect, and so beautiful!! I'm wanting to have luna moth wings added to her, but they are slightly different than normal luna wings, because they are a cross between two different species of luna. I'll be posting a pic to my gallery in a couple of days showing a sneak peek of my "Lunacorn" char with her wings. (Her body is basically this: [link] but with the wings added.) Can you make a curved horn like that and tufted tail, paint on a deer-like nosepatch and use wavy fleece or mohair for the mane and tail?

Sure, I believe I could manage all the things you requested Keep watching and I'll release prices sometime in the next month if all goes as planned. You can order one at that time.

(Joined your YM group!) Also, here are the wings I would like my unicorn doll to have (the undersides look the same, but are paler in color, and if possible, I would like for the eyespots to be actual albino doll's eyes, if you can get them): [link]

TheMushroomPeddler In reply to swandog [2008-02-07 01:53:13 +0000 UTC]

I could make those I will start looking for eyes over the next while as we finish up with the doll.

twigling [2008-01-27 23:15:26 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow! You've done an awesome job.. she's so pretty, and I just love those shapely legs!! Really like the dappled effect on the leg from the master too!!

Btw, I saw in one of your earlier posts somewhere that you were using PVC piping as mother molds ~ how do you do that?? Did you cut the pipes in half or just slit them down one side? Do they have keys on the inside to meet with the silicone or anything?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheMushroomPeddler In reply to twigling [2008-01-28 02:27:01 +0000 UTC]

The PVC needs to be cut into two halves otherwise it's a nightmare to try to get the mold out It doesn't need to be keyed, just wrapped back around the mold before pouring and held together with rubber bands.

I actually use cardboard more then PVC pipe now though. Just bend it to the right dimensions for whatever your are molding, tape, and then press the bottom into a flat clay base to seal it off. Works really well.

This is exquisite

I need to learn to do the joints you are doing

TheMushroomPeddler In reply to bear48 [2008-01-28 02:28:11 +0000 UTC]

The joints are really tricky. I actually would like to rework a few of the ones on this doll, but I figure I'll do an updated version later on
