Yup! It's basically set in the future of North America and they live in 12 Districts and annually they host a gameshow called 'The Hunger Games' in which a boy and girl (between the ages of 12 - 18) from each District have to survive to the death in an arena. Only one of 24 gets out alive

I never judge something by how popular it is. I read/watch it and make my own opinion. I just thought that you couldn't relate to the characters and I felt like the author didn't do much research on the history of Britain (where it's meant to be set)

But its an alright anime I guess
