Description
Second in the series. apparently this counts as fanart. Boo.The Tripod: so it's not yellow. But at least it's an alien. Blah. I tried very hard on this one to make it *not* look like the tripods in the latest movie WotW...or like the other versions I've seen for that matter. The design is actually based on a pokemon. :slapsself: yes, it's frightening how much I was influenced by that show. In any case I'm not too happy with it, but my sister thinks it looks cool. Inked entirely in micron pen, to give it a different feel from the other characters.
*technically the Martians are not beasts...they are highly evolved and intelligent organisms from our neighbor planet, set on destroying the human race and claim Earth as their own. However, they were dumb enough to be killed by the common cold...or whatever germ that was...so heck they get relegated back to beast. Hah.
The Hound: from the Hound of the Baskervilles. Now this one...this one was a pain to draw. First it was white, to make it stand out against the black. Then it was black, because it's described as black in the book. Then it was white again, because my sister said that it's covered entirely with phosphorous and therefore glowing. Then back to black, since the book says that only the EYES and the MOUTH glow and so the contrast was better and it also worked better for the picture as a whole. The book also says that the dog is a mixture of a mastiff and a bloodhound but I wasn't going to draw a butt-ugly dog. Besides wolves are cooler anyway. Based mostly off of the version from an old Wishbone episode (yes, I watched that show too >.<
Props to my dad for telling me to blank out the hound's eye. cool.
The raven: from Poe's poem. I knew a kid who could quote the entire thing. Scary. Obviously the easiest of the lot, just nail the pose, set the perch and that's it. It *should* be sitting indoors, like on a hatrack or something, with a window behind it...but too late for that now.

Very nice. I love how it all flows together. I especially like the first one, it reminds me of the tripods book series.

It could have been better. the slaughter scenes were quite horrific and the main family just annoyed the pants off of me. *well not literally. I don't know what people would've thought if my pants had run away from me in the theatre.* Alien ship design good, alien themselves bad. Ending notoriously saccharine. And that's about all I remember

Fabulous. You strike again!
I really like the 'thirds' approach, and the alternating colors of the section. You have this amazing mastery of working with postive and negative spaces--it makes me smile.
Excellent work.
