Yeah, just so y'all know, I'm proud Lapidot trash.ΒThis is my favorite ship ever, aaahhhhh
This drawing took so freaking long, holy crap, I'm not used to this stuff.
Anyway! That other Peridot drawing I did, that I recently posted, where I claimed it was half of a Lapidot drawing I was working on...Β Yeah, well, I made this instead. BUT I might still go back to that one and add Lapis in the future, so stay tuned!!

I'm not hating on lapidot I just wanna know why they were shipped BEFORE beta, cause beta kinda made lapidot close to a Canon ship...

lapidot was sorta first seen after warp tour when peridot was introduced--i assume because peridot and lapis were the only sorta minor gem characters at the time. Needless to say the ship was very crack in the beginningΒ

I didn't ship them right away, and I honestly didn't even think about it till I saw fan art of it (yours in particular).
I think that was around the time of Peri's redemption... When she got really cute :3

I'm actually sort of glad you asked that question! People didn't have much of a reason to ship them except that maybe they liked both characters and thought, "Hey, they would be cute together!" I also hear a lot that people liked the blue green combo, cause it looks pretty. But yeah, there are plenty of people who shipped them way back before they ever had contact with each other.
Personally, I started shipping them a while back thanks to stumbling across BeautySnake and also a bunch of amazing Lapidot art on Tumblr

It could happen, yeah. Who knows! My prediction is that they'll always hint at it, but maybe never make it a canon ship. Although, I have a small hope that I'm wrong Β Β If they DO make it canon, it will be a joyous day for the shippers.
