The other day I saw my roommate watching some tv where a female lead and her friend were in a yoga class having a conversation where the yoga instructor would occasionally interrupt them to basically say "pipe down". It stuck out to me as a simple but effective way to keep the audience visually engaged during a scene that would otherwise just be a couple of characters talking back and forth. Plus, gym clothes are hot, so you can enjoy it even if you're not paying attention to the words (like me)! So when I wrote this caption the gym location didn't have any impact on what was happening; it's the same dialogue that would be there if I'd used a picture of them chatting over brunch. The location does visually communicate that these two care about staying fit and that they've become very attractive women, but the former isn't a key character trait for either and the latter is both communicated in the dialogue and could be accomplished with plenty of other pictures.

I'm rambling. I wrote most of this when I was half-asleep so I wouldn't forget the idea, and after a few weeks I finally got around to finishing + revising it. The story isn't especially unique for me: ambiguous transformation method (in my head Nicki is a witch with a reality changing spell, but who cares?), victim losing status (accountant to secretary), victim succumbing to her new body's carnal desires (sleeping with the new bf after just a few days). OH WELL! Maybe the next one will be a bit more experimental.
