-Mirror Master: Initially a quiet but brilliant scientist, Sam Scudder was a pioneer in the field of optics, light and reflective surfaces. If this sounds like such a niche subject, then you just found out why he never became famous. But there was so much more than just smoke and mirrors to his theories. Sam found that, under the right circumstances, one could potentially travel into reflective surfaces and into another dimension. One he called “The Mirror Dimension”. He was never an expert at naming things, but through this new Dimension, he could master so many new abilities. He could create clones of solid light, travel through any reflective surface, create powerful illusions, the sky was the limit.

Unfortunately, many wrote off his theories as pseudo-science, and his business partner screwed him out of a potential deal. Sam was now broken and disgraced. A lesser man would have given up then. Or at the very least, a less obsessive man, which is what Sam was.

One night, he broke into his lab in order to steal his mirror tech prototypes, when he was found out by his treacherous partner. They struggled for a bit, and in the end, Sam was seemingly murdered. His ex-partner was convicted of murder, and Sam Scudder’s body was never recovered.

As you may have guessed, it was all just smoke and mirrors.

The mirror prototypes had been a success. Sam disappeared into the reflection of a nearby window and made an illusion to make it seem like he had gotten murdered. With little options left, he decided that an honest living was now beyond his reach and became a mercenary for hire. An expert corporate spy and thief, who could go in, take stuff and vanish without ever being seen. Whatever money didn’t go to finance a slightly more lavish lifestyle would go toward financing whatever upgrades he wanted to make for his mirror tech.

Now way past the prototype stage, Sam’s technology has allowed him to evolve his abilities far beyond even his wildest expectations, allowing him to become a true Master Of Mirrors.

-Captain Boomerang: A dishonorably discharged former black ops operative, George “Digger” Harkness is the living definition of a “Bogan”. A boorish, beer guzzling, crass, openly rude over the top stereotype of an Australian to such a degree, most Australian people who have met him would rather believe he is an American putting on an offensive caricature of their culture.

Among his stereotypical Aussie traits, Harkness had a particular affinity toward boomerangs. He spent much of his free time just throwing them around as a sort of tick, the same way a person would kick a can around. This earned him the (Not entirely affectionate) nickname of “Captain Boomerang for those who thought “Digger” was too short a name.

Thus, once the whole “Dishonorably Discharged” incident happened, Harkness decided to capitalize on the Captain Boomerang moniker the only way any sane human being would.

As a children’s toy manufacturer.

And after that fell through because of his aforementioned bad behavior deemed him unsuitable to be around children, he decided to become a mercenary instead. And finally, he had found his true calling.

At first, Harkness used regular, run of the mill boomerangs to commit his deeds. He had always found he worked better with them than with guns anyways. As time went on and he became more daring, he began using tricked out boomerangs. Some were razor sharp, others exploded; some would release a net, others would release gas; Some would electrify his targets, and others were just plain old boomerangs. Digger was now having the time of his life, continuously challenging himself and seeing an endless supply of booze, good food and pleasant company.

It eventually started to get a bit boring, though, as most jobs started to get repetitive and stale. It wasn’t until, during a dispute at a bar, he got the challenge of a lifetime: To do in The Fastest Man Alive. Now with a challenge worthy of his time, Harkness was looking forward to introducing The Flash to Captain Boomerang.

-The Trickster: James Jesse was one of many nameless wage slaves trying to make their way through life. All of his life, he sought out to make people laugh, whether it be as the class clown, a young delinquent or, most recently, the office Cut-up. But the tiresome toiling of office work had made his outlook on life to become boring and gray, and in time, he came to sadly accept his dull role on society.

Until one day, on the news, he heard of a new phenomenon. One which had been quickly spreading through the world. Costumed Superheroes had seemingly awakened from their long slumber and gone back to fighting colorful supervillains. This ignited a dying flame inside James. The world was quickly filling up with larger-than-life personalities, and he was missing out. At last, James Jesse made a decision: He gave his two weeks’ notice (Which is to say, he wrote “I Quit” in is butt cheeks and proceeded to moon his boss) and was ready to be reborn as the biggest entertainer Central City had ever seen.

Donning a new suit with garish colors, he took on the name “Trickster” and went on a rampage across Central City. He started out small, playing some casual pranks among random citizens. He then moved on to wanton vandalizing of public property. And from there, he became a known terror throughout Central City. A capped loon indulging in petty and often times ridiculous crimes, often with a punch line. He was now in the spotlight and loved every minute of it.

If Jesse had paid attention to the news, however, is that for every costumed criminal, there was a costumed hero not far behind. And when it comes to Central City, that gap never stays for long. James was finally apprehended by The Flash, his beloved spotlight now shining on the Scarlet Speedster.

James knew, however, that if any artist wanted to stay relevant, they needed to stay relevant. And that’s exactly was he was about to do.

Opportunity came knocking when James found out about an experimental pair of gravity defying platforms were being tested at STAR Labs, so he took some time to take them for himself. And besides that, he decided to take his gimmick as further as he could. Soon, he’d have an arsenal which included flash bombs, explosive rubber chickens, dolls with buzzsaws and sticky paint bombs.

And before you say that he’s just a rip off of The Joker, shut up! They are completely different. True, they both have a taste for theatrics and they both indulge in mad cackling, and they both like to show off for the media and have an arsenal of tricked out pranking items and see themselves as the prime entertainers of their respective cities, but that’s it! Besides, The Joker has a clown gimmick, whereas Trickster has a punk-prankster-anarchist-jester with a side of stand up comedian and color commentator and… It’s totally different, okay!!!???

To everyone’s surprise, The Trickster had escaped his seemingly fated trip to irrelevancy. His re invention allowed him to survive in the current, superhero climate, and now he’s as ready as ever to bring back color and laughs to this Depressive-Burg. Lock up your women and get some insurance, for The Trickster is here to stay!
