EDIT: OMFG NEW TALES OF MONKEY ISLAND, GO FUCKING PLAY IT. NOW....In Elaine's defense, if one of my ex-boyfriends crashed my Mardi Gras party in a dress, I wouldn't be too happy to see him either.
In Guybrush's defense, he did kind of deserve more than a kick to the curb for no adequately explored reason. What with the whole saving Elaine from a bloodthirsty zombie-ghost pirate hellbent on making her his queen of the damned. Also, the boots were a nice touch. Try to restrain yourselves, ladies.
Monkey Island 2 joke. If you don't get it, you're crazy. Go download SCUMMVM and the Monkey Island games now, dammit!
Monkey Island 2 belongs to the jerks over at Lucas Arts. I say 'jerks' because there probably won't be an MI5 anytime soon. *sigh*
Lots of mistakes with this fanart, but I don't care. :> I forgot to color Elaine's earrings. Silly Nio. I'll just get away with saying they're clear or hair-colored. HURRAY!
I've been on a strange LucasArts old-school games lately. I've been playing all of the original Monkey Islands, Day Of The Tentacle and Maniac Mansion, Sam and Max hit the road, and even some of the old Indie-Jones games. Man, I have no life.
Thank goodness for the SCUMM VM emulator.

the best thing is when Guybrush wears this and is in Elaines room when she's not there use "pick up" on Elaine's clothes, he will say:

On another note; there's a vague explanantion. Β There's a book in the Phatt Island library entitled 'Next To Nothing' by Elaine, supposedly detailing married life with Guybrush. Β If I remember right, Guybrush's commentary on looking at the book is "If you've got nothing nice to say, you should say nothing, not write a BOOK."

I'm not generally a commenter, but I had to comment on this- this is great. The background was worth putting the time into, and your shading is wonderful.
..Jerks. But then again, if MI5 is going to be like MI4, perhaps it's for the best. MI4 was really disappointing, I thought.

I really like the details you put into it. Especially with all the folds on Guybrush's dress and boots. And Guybrush's hairy arms and legs. The shading is excellent, and really brings the picture to life, as does the SUPERB background. Seriously, I'm jealous. I can't do backgrounds.
On a gamer's note... why don't they make good games like this anymore?! I mean, yeah, Telltale Games is trying with episode Sam and Max (which is fun), but it's still not like... this. They seriously need to make MI5, and bring back our favorite oddly-named Pirate.

Seriously, thanks! When I finished this piece, I kept going 'blarg, I dun like this part, or that part.' It makes me feel better to know someone appreciates the time and effort that went into it!
that was the first real background I ever really put any effort into. I had to run the sim-engine and stare at Elaine's bedroom for hours to get it anywhere close to right! 
And, yeah, as a gamer, I feel your pain. I remember reading recently on a Gaming Blog that the LucasArts people are saying there will undoubtedly be a Monkey Island 5--but they won't really start any production on it until 2015 or something of that sort. The Sam and Max games that are being released into episodes are quite funny and fun at the same time, but eh, it just wasn't the same as Hit the Road, y'know? Here's hoping they keep trying.
