I'll give those avatards some of my comics. Avatards love my comics.Tonraq is pretty sure that water tribe + water tribe does not equal firebending
Last submission of my 2012 summer vacation :/ School starts in the morning. I'll try to get another one submitted this weekend, but we'll see how that goes.

Well, it's fanart. It doesn't have to be literally the same as the original (in fact, if it WAS it probably would be borderline copyrighted and you could get into legal trouble!). Besides, it's always a stylistic issue if colors don't match up properly. I tend to use dark colors so some cartoons are difficult for me because they have light color schemes/skin tones. It doesn't look natural so I change it. It's a choice, not an oversight.

Do you not like darker skinned people either? Do you think dark skinned people look prettier when photographers make their skin lighter? You can still use lighter colors in your art and color a persons skin correctly - but you bypassed that and just stated you prefer lighter skin.

I have several dark skinned friends. In fact, one of my best friends is very dark skinned and I've known her for several years and think she's one of the most beautiful people I've ever met, emotionally and physically. I never said I prefer lighter skin. I've tried using the regular colors from the show, but it throws off the color schemes I use. If you look here: [link] The skin colors look more accurate because they match the way I used color better.

You just admitted to liking Korra with light skin - I don't know how else to interpret that. Having black friends doesn't make anyone less racist - those black friends instead become the exception - but I am not going into psychology here.
That is a BS excuse to color someone lighter. If brown and black people don't fit the color scheme to your art - you may need to change your art style. Period. If your art style cannot accommodate people of all colors then someone is wrong. If you cannot see that then no amount of my comments and explaining can help you see it.

Dude. Calm down. First off, there are no specific RACES in Avatar that translate to our own world, so whatever if she colors the skin a bit lighter. And second, I find that people who accuse others of racism on the tiniest, stupidest, and most absurd claims are demeaning the races they are supposedly trying to help. If you want respect for people of "different skin tones" then stop making them seem like victims and treat them with the respect they deserve.

But you. You have called me racist because this one picture, these two characters just happen to have lighter skin then how they're supposed to. Yes, I was planning on fixing it in the future, but you have pissed me off to the point that I've opted not to.
