Zero tries to use his Z-Knuckle on Phantom, but Phantom blocks the attack and readies a counter-attack!This one took too long, so I probably won't use the same technique as I did here for a while. Also I need to get better at drawing backgrounds. >_<

Don't need to worry much about the background with all that you have going on in the foreground! Backgrounds are really only important when the scene the characters are in is important, or when you are just doing a single character striking a pose. When you have multiple characters performing actions, the background can be as simple as a few colors, nobody will complain!

The lighting on the picture is just awesome! I think the background is okey, considering the darkness, it's okey that it's almost just suggested.

The main parts of this that snag me are the sketched-quality of the weapons - the sword and the blades of the throwing star. This gives the image an unfinished look, as if this is only a work-in-progress.

Personally I would recommend using bigger brushes, unless you like the scratchy look. I think you could've gotten away with just skipping the background altogether on this piece, since you've got SHINY ENERGY in the foreground.

haha, I spent waaaay too much time doing the shading... would've been hopeless without the tablet.
