I remember those characters! They also appeared in an anime adaptation that came out in the late 80s, which was called "Don Don Domeru to Ron". In America it was called "Wowser". Good show.
I remember the big white dog as the main character, and that black cat was his nemesis, who oddly was sometimes his friend. But most of the times he was a serious pest as he would often cause trouble for the dog and his owner.

Here, it's a very popular kids comic named "Cubitus" and it's creator is "Dupa", who sadly passed away a few years ago. Now a new team is making a new version of it, but it doesn't feel the same. The gags are bad and they gave Cubitus and Senechal children.

Same reaction here. I've read the first of these new book and while they have almost the same art style, the stories don't have the same feeling.

OMG...I remember these guys! I used to watch the animated series (called 'Wowser' over here I believe'), and I could have sworn I saw a few comic strips of them, under the name of 'Conker', in some old Care Bears comics I had.
Anyway, that's a great piece of fanart, and I really like Senechal's (Presto(n) in the English version? *sigh* I don't know, it was a really long time ago when they showed the cartoon over here.) expression.
