Very Interesting! I thought about going in this direction myself. Nice interpretation.

Look up the video game Sonic Spinball for the Sega Genesis. Sally and the whole gang, believe it or not, are featured in one of the mini-games between levels. You have to save them from being roboticized in a pinball minigame from a mini Robotnik trying to block the pinball from hitting the roboticizer tubes that you have to break in order to save them.
And in said game, Sally is drawn in her VERY classic purple fur and black hair with the head band and blue boots.
So I would have to disagree with your take on how Sega would approach a modern take on Sally, too. It is good and cute, I admit...but it seems too "Disney" to me.
Hell, in my opinion the way they re-designed Sonic is terrible. The Japanese have gone from making him a charming character to just plain blatant and weak. What they need to do is scrap everything and listen to the pre-established fans. You know, the people who were fans of Sonic back in the 90's? At least then they would stop having to cop-out and make up something that they think would be marketable according to the lowest common denominator.
Granted it is supposed to be a game for kids, but even the kids that they're aimed toward have more dignity and taste than they give 'em credit for.

I KNOW about Spinball, thanks. I bought it when it was released.
And don't forget the Freedom Fighters designs were based on the prototype versions of SatAM. This doesn't change the fact that Sega created a design for their squirrels with Ricky and my drawing is based on this. That design of Ricky is still valid, as you can see on Yuji Uekawa's model sheets.
Also, I disagree. Classic Sonic is cute, but too much based on Felix the Cat and Mickey Mouse. If I want to play with a character like that, I buy their games. Sonic's actual design is more dynamic, like the character is supposed to be! I don't want Sega to listen to some fans stuck in the 90's. If I want to play games stuck in the past, I'd play Mario. And Mario games bores me.
I really don't understand how can some people like you spit their hate over "new Sonic" on other people's galleries. I don't care. I like both versions of Sonic because I know their qualities.

I strongly disagree on this, Sally Acorn would just look like she does in the comics right now if she was in a game, and she is a SEGA character anyway.

No. Sega's female characters have no fur on the cheeks, for example.

It does not really matter about them not having fur on their cheeks... lol

It does. Sega has basic rules to follow on their characters designs. That's one of them.

This is the best attempt (in fact, the only good attempt,) I've ever seen at doing a Sega style Sally.

this definitely works X3 had Sega used Sally during the 90s as they initially intended, I would've expected her to look more like this by now.

I remember Ricky from small appearances occasionally in the past. But this is a nice touch up of Sally trying to add the Sega effect toward her!
