In 1914 Mariosania has made a light machine gun developed from Maxim gun - Pattern 14 chambered in 6.5mm.Although working well it was water-cooled and weighted 18kg and before an air-cooled variant (Pattern 14/18) was designed, project for much lighter machine gun was submitted.
A engeener from Matyslograd Engeenering School in 1916 designed an air-cooled automatic rifle, with mass of 7kg and fed by 47 round pan magazine.
It was chambered in standard 6.5x55mm cartridge.
A single prototype was made the same year, but it was not adopted by the army.
The prototype resides at a Mariosanian Army Museum.
