For many combatants, switching from a rifle to a handgun is much more faster than reloading a rifle. It's small size allows it to be utilized with a combat knife or an additional handgun in the off-hand. However, handguns deal moderate damage to enemies unless aiming for the head. A laser sight is built in to assist in targeting. The Wingman is mainly used as a backup sidearm and is standard issue to many armed forces throughout Ferreria.

The Wingman blaster may be equipped either with live rounds or stun rounds depending on the senario. Stun rounds are normally used for the capture of enemy combatants.

To prevent the use of unqualified individuals from using the Wingman Blaster, a sensor is built in to prevent its usage by anyone under the age of 18 or anyone without a license to operate a blaster.
