Description This is a photoshop coloured illustration of a friend's original character, "Query".
The girl who created her, known online as Query, passed away recently due to breast cancer.
It prompted me to pretend I could draw again as I missed her.

To note: I'm NOT an artist. At best I can blag my way through a drawing. I've elected to ape Bruce Timm's style (you couldn't even call it mimic, it's not that good) as it's so highly stylised it's reasonably simple to adopt and I practised drawing in that style so many hundreds of thousands of times a hundred years ago that it kinda looks ok.
I've also tried to keep a reasonably consistent light source, but as you can probably tell I have no fecking idea what I'm doing when it comes to shadowing or creating sparkles and stuff. I tried!
This is Query in a dress described in one of her fanfics, I believe the one where they're in Spain, though I can't remember the title right now. I think it's "French Tart" and you can read her fic by following this link: [link]

By the time I stumbed across her website, stories and character, she was long gone...  I still enjoy reading her work!  I believe that she lives on through the hearts of us Riddler fans everywhere <3

Don't bash your artwork, even if you do not label yourself as an artist!  Personally, I love this picture and her whole outfit.  I would love to pull off wearing something as beautiful and ? (mark) decked out as that!

I remember reading those stories when she was first writing them. That's so sad, she was a brilliant writer. She created some lovely characters and gave them very entertaining stories. Now I'm all sad.

I actually made some fan art of her when I was reading them that I came across recently. I was thinking of redoing them. Since she was your friend, do you think it would be alright for me to do that?

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but either way you did a great job immortalizing her character for everyone to see. I’m sure she would have loved it.

Pretty picture, I thought Query was already a DC character? I read a comic where he called his henchgirl's that : [link]

Either way its an awesome idea.

Yeah, she showed up AFTER my friend created her character. I guess it's a fairly obvious name choice for a Riddler henchgirl.

It's how you vary how thick or thin a line is, depending on where it is wow. instinctive line weight. I'm jealous now

I think it's lovely, and it's a fitting tribute more for the sentimentality thn anything else. I felt the need to point out as well, though, that you've an amazing concept of line weight. That's one thing a lot of people overlook, and you've done marvelously.

I have absolutely no idea what line weight is, but thank you!
