Description Gigantor, Gigantor, Gigantor.

Gigantor the space aged robot,
He is at your command.
Gigantor the space aged robot,
His power is in your hand.

Bigger than big, taller than tall,
Quicker than quick, stronger than strong.
Ready to fight for right, against wrong.

Gigantor, Gigantor, Gigantor!

Here is my version of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's famous manga/anime Tetsujin 28 go aka Gigantor!  During World War II, Professor Ichiro Kaneda, was a brilliant scientist who unfortunately used his skills for war. When Japan was losing the war, the Japanese government assigned him to create a miracle weapon. A weapon that could stop the Allied advance. Called the Tetsujin project, Kaneda and his team would spent countless, months creating a super robot to stop the Americans. However by the time they were almost complete, Japan had lost the war and the Tetsujin project was abandoned. When the Americans occupied Japan, they discovered the Tetsujin project and brought it back hoping it would be useful against the Soviet Union. Reluctant at first, Kaneda agreed to complete the project he started and thus in 1955 Tetsujin (litterally Iron Man in Japanese...no not that Iron Man ) or Gigantor by the West was complete. The robot's main purpose was to keep the peace of the world and keep the Communists at bay. However former friend and  Nazi scientist Schien Franken went mad and was offered a position by the Russians to make their own giant robot, thus created the Black Ox! A terror to everyone the only one who could stop him was Gigantor! After defeating the Black Ox, Franken launched a nuclear bomb onto Japan (Wow third times a charm) but Gigantor was able to save Japan from the weapon, but the cost of it's life. Seeing what has happened, Professor Kaneda decided he had enough and retired and became a college professor, teaching robotics. Fastforward, many decades later, we see Kaneda's grandson, 15-year old Shotaro. Shotaro is a gifted teenager with the IQ of 200, detective skills that can rival Sherlock Holmes or Batman''s which gave him the nickname "the boy detective', and is a talented artist as well. However despite his skills, he is kind of an outsider among his classmates except for his best friend and later girlfriend, Makiko Shikishima, the daughter of his mentor Professor Takishi Shikishima, who studied under Shotaro's Grandfather. When all of a sudden when a Terrorist Organization called the BF group uses their own giant robot to attack Tokyo, it is revealed to Shotaro that he is destined to control a mighty robot based off his grandfather's creation, Gigantor #28! Turns out even after Professor Kaneda left the Tetsujin project, it still kept going on with many failures and a few successes. It is also revealed that his father, Daisuke Kaneda also used a Gigantor himself,  Gigantor #16. And now it's Shotaro's turn. Like his father and grandfather before him, he will use Gigantor to stop evil. With the help the Shikishima, family, Inspector Inspector Ohtsuka from Interpol and even an unsuspected ally from Kenji Murasame, a Yakuza official, Shotaro and Gigantor are not alone and  will face of against Terrorist organizations, crime syndicates, giant robots and even his grandfather's old enemy Professor  Franken and his new improved Black Ox 2.0.

Remember how I said that Mazinger Z was the pioneer of Mecha manga and anime? Well I could have been wrong there. It truly was Tetsujin 28 or Gigantor that paved the way for it. As you see here I made some changes and combined the many versions of the Tetsujin franchise. Like for starters is Shotaro's age. He's usually around 10-12, but I made him a little older and Dr. Kaneda is actually Shotaro's father but I changed to grandfather. As for the Gigantor used here. I used the version from the 1980 series www.internationalhero.co.uk/t/… with the original design being the first Gigantor created www.internationalhero.co.uk/t/… . Tetsujin 28 is truly a great anime series though I reconmend the 1980 series for it's updates and the 2004 series for it's story. (while no respect to the 1963 series....it just hasn't aged well)

Ah yes, Gigantor/Tetsujin 28; the grandfather of giant robots. I loved both the 80s series and the 2004 series. Though, I always noticed how the 80s series differs greatly from the original source material.

It does, I think the 80s series tried to be it's own thing

Yeah. Pretty much. If anything, the 80s series was kind of a loose adaptation of the original source material. Whereas the 60s series and 2004 series were more true to the manga.
