So? My Infernape powned her Lucario in less than three moves! Seriously, fighting and steel, what were those guys thinking?

Also remember that Lucario has higher stats in it's special attack and speed, plus it can learn a handful of moves that can compensate it's Steel side, which if raised in its special attack and speed, can wreak a Blaziken.
In your case, however, you just simply had the proper starter for that gym in particular, plus you had Infernape, which means it was Lv. 36, and her Lucario was level 32, so you could have practically one shot her Lucario with the right move.

True, but if both Blaziken and Lucario were both at the same level, Lucario would still probably lose because, again fire beats steel. I'm not saying Lucario isn't useful. I've used Lucario a couple times myself, I just don't see how people can give it that much love when compared with Blaziken. Maybe I'm just fanboying over it or whatever.
Yeah, Infernape was the first starter Pokemon I used in Diamond, before I discovered that it was basically Blaziken 2.0 and shifted to Toterra.
