Description
Please tell me I'm not the only one who runs into this. Being so used to complex math that the moment you run into something simple, your brain just stops for a second.ΒRelated content

Ooh, dear oh dear! XD I can so relate Every time I see a strictly numerical expression I feel like saying "Oh?! A number?! More numbers?! Is something wrong with this book?"
Or when someone asked me what 55555-47661 was and I blurted out "7894" without realising what I was saying Then I went "Huh? Hold on, let me think this through." X/D (And then my fiancΓ©e took her calculator out and the fun was over quite quickly
) quite embarrassing for a model student ;-;

Yeah, I'm so used to integrals, series, and the like that whenever I'm down to mere simplification I have to stop and check my work twice. Is 22+15 really 37? No, no, that can't be right.
Just silly stuff like that.Β

XD I once recall taking a calculator to an examination in my younger days - only to use it to verify that "1+1=2"! Despite being able to do calculations with 7-digit numbers in my head without any problems (unless it is the vile subtraction operation!
), I struggled with trivia like those - and even somehow managed to lose marks on them, until the day that I stopped seeing numbers in mathematics textbooks and that it was no longer called just "Maths", but, rather - "Linear Algebra", "Calculus" and the likes XD

Yep, it's always those stupid small errors that get me. Whether it's leaving off a decimal point or a sign error, it's always the little things.

I go back and forth between complex math and simple math with ease for the most part, but subtraction is still a nemesis of mine. lol

Glad to see I'm not the only one who still finds subtraction to be a bane of existence at times.

Just think of it as a - b = a + (-b) PFFFFFFFFFFFFTT //slapped big time (It has a plus in it, right? X/D)
Sorry about that, my sense of humour is rubbish compared to yours! XD

Well, you're not wrong (about the math portion). I;m pretty sure you have a good sense of humor.

Don't worry!
Me and my cousins needed hours to solve the math homeworks of my little sister because we were thinking too complex.
