Description So I know that everybody and their dog has done a Joker tribute, and I feel that means two things:
1) It's an overdone image, leave it alone if you want to be original.
2) If everyone's doing it, you should get a turn too; hopefully this is a new twist to it.

Anyway, I swear to all that is beautiful that this is the last of the McDonald's. I did all three McDonald's pieces at the same time, and I've been waiting to find time to colour them all. This is it. For real.

Someone once told me that applying comments to a friend once per day can cure warts. I don't know about you guys, but I'll try it out.

definitely haven't seen anything quite like this before..."why so serious" is getting overdone but you managed an interesting twist out of it

*Chuckles* I really like it, a well-done illustration, parody, and a *very* unique take on a Joker tribute. The coloring is a bit rough, but I think in this case that adds character (and goes with the Joker/ kid's fast-food place image), especially with the shading in all the right places.

wow this request for people to comment was original. but yeah the picture is hilarious.i love it. that required some thought i can tell. do these jokes just come to you during the day or do you actively sit around and brainstorm?

I have a section of my agenda where I have comic ideas summarized in one-line scribbles. I try to write them down when they hit me. I actually have trouble sleeping because the moment I stop actively thinking about something the ideas start coming and I keep getting up to write them down. I've got about 30-40 on hold, and an old sketchbook of single frames yet to dig through. I like to let them sit for a bit before I draw them out, just to make sure they weren't only funny because I was so damn tired. I'm a very bad brain-stormer.

Turn these into placards, go into McDonalds and leave these on tables. You will start a revolution.

I... I... Damn, it, I need to see the Dark Knight. Even though I don't watch superhero movies. But whatever.
I like the "eyes", a lot--Good job
Though, something about the gradient you used to shade it in the little corner there is strange... I think maybe it's too steep? Not sure, though.
Anyway, nice work! I, for one, do think this is an original take on him

So I decreased the shading in the top right corner. I certainly like it better now, but I'm open to ore counsel. Thanks!

Yeah, this is better!
Though I think part of it might have to do with the white/off-white edging on the lineart, which makes the line going into the shadow there look like it's on top... Then again, it does have stylistic benefits as-is, so it's you call

It's now on my to-do list. I felt like was "pussyfooting" the shading (pardon the expression), but in retrospect I went way too far the other way.

The golden arches have just been given a new meaning to me.

Cripes, I never considered that in the first place.

You know. I have two things to say. ( Three )

1. the Mcdonalds is getting old, so I'm glad you're done.
2. Mcdonalds is scary.
3. I could probably BE the joker. I have a sick sense of humor, a logical disregard for the value of human life, and I kind of seem to have that general mind-set.
Im not a psychotic criminal, but I COULD be... maybe. xD

I know what you mean about #1. The odd thing for me was that I drew all three of the comics in the space of an hour, so it didn't have time to get old. It just happened. At once. I suppose it would have been tactful to space them better.

Oh, and how do you make these? ( Is curious since there's a ton of programs, and other methods of making these. )

It didn't notify me about this message since it was a reply to your original comment, which is why this took so long. They start out as vague ideas, images, or liners. I usually let them sit for at least a day or two to sort out composition. Then I do a very light pencil sketch on regular 8.5x11" paper. I re-arrange the image until I like it, then I ink it with graphic pen (I have 2 $3.00 pens and one that a friend gave me since she didn't want it). I write out the lettering on a separate part of the page.

I scan it at the public library, and e-mail the scans to myself. I open them in Photoshop Elements, adjust the contrast/brightness and arrange them inside the frame. I then adjust the lettering (or occasionally add the lettering from a stock I made). I take a moment here to clean up any odd bits if there are any. Then my one of my favourite parts - colouring. I use a particular "dry media" brush to get the crayon-ish effect, and I just do a different layer for each colour so I can adjust it later. I then use the burn tool or a second layer of colour to apply shading. I let it sit for an hour, come back to it, and save the finished version.

well, this is a really clever take on an overused idea ^^. pretty creative...and it's appropriate, too; ronald mcdonald is one freaky guy...

Yeah. The costume's just a distraction. I hear that if you look into his mouth you can see the end of the world hanging from his uvula. I'm pretty sure I read it on Wikipedia somewhere.

haha, wtf? but still...i think i'd rather face him than the joker. especially because i'm the kind of person who takes herself too seriously...he'd probably slit my mouth open...
