i was acctually re watching the valentines day episode recently and someone posted in the comments that some kind of factfile thing said germany is straight, which is kind of killing me on the inside bc i dont know if its true ;-; it has to be canon though i mean all dis fruking amazing evidence. I shall pray to lord doitsu for it to be canon ;^;

And that thing on Germany being straight, I'm almost 100% sure that isn't true. I mean, in CANON he proposed to Italy. I don't care how you look at it, but that's definitely gay. xD In fact, I heard that in canon America believes Germany is in love with Italy, too. (In the Japanese version of the anime, America says that "Germany's just chasing after Italy's butt. What's so great about Italy's butt, anyways?" xD) I wouldn't believe what that person said. Lots of people make up stuff.

I REMEMBER THAT PART OF THE SUB! when america is stuffing hamburgers down his throat. In the dub i hear him say something like "I think hes in love with italy" and im not the only one according to the internet. Also, i really think germany would be bi because #1 all dis gay stuff like proposing to italy makes him look gay and such and #2 episode 5 of World Twinkle confirmed Germany = HRE meaning he fell for italy thinking he was a girl. So it seems possible for him to like either gender. EITHER WAY almost everyone ships him with italy. Even ameroca apperently XD

Well in all honesty, I could think of quite a few countries who are bi. xD Though, with Germany, I still think he's gay, but back then when he was a little boy, heterosexuality was the only thing he was exposed to. You know, how people find out their gay when they're older and stuff. *shrug* That's just how I view it, though. 
But yes, either way, EVERYONE ships it. I can only imagine everyone being like "FINALLY!" when they get together. haha xD

But yeah, Himaruya really set the GerIta up perfectly. SO MUCH PROOF. also, its acctually been stated in the latest season that Germany = HRE. It was an episode on kinda the origin of germany. Didnt go into detail, but it STATED it. >.<
