Description
Music"You taught me the courage of stars before you left
How light carries on endlessly, even after death
With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite
How rare and beautiful it is to even exist
I couldn't help but ask
For you to say it all again
I tried to write it down
But I could never find a pen
I'd give anything to hear
You say it one more time
That the universe was made
Just to be seen by my eyes."
-Saturn by Sleeping At Last
----
Soooo I got really bored and got inspired by an old digital painting I found when cleaning out my files and I decided to start something from scratch. I've been going through a hard time lately but Sleeping At Last songs always have a very calming feel to them, and one of my all time favorite songs is Saturn. It has a very cool, relaxing feel to me and I always thought it sounded winter-y. So I whipped this together while listening to the song, and boy is it really soothing. Talk about therapeutic, let me tell you.
First time drawing any sort of northern or southern lights (no idea which one these are supposed to be, honestly, as I just did what I had in my head). Not really sure how accurate it is, since I didn't feel like the greens and purples really fit in all that well with the tone. I have a creative license and I'm using it lol!
This is also my first successful digital painting! I needed practice with backgrounds anyways, as one look at my gallery will tell.
Not going to be my last drawing of 2019, but it is my last work until Christmas. I am taking a break from art to focus on my writing for a couple of days. Buuut enough of my rambling on.
Merry Christmas to anyone reading this! I hope you have a blessed holiday!
