I like the model's wild curly hair combined with the "screaming" pink lips, they give your model a very unique look, screaming of independence. 
Unfortunately there are a few things that get in the way of this being a great shot. First would be the fact that the lines in the photo (lines that, if used properly, could have helped the composition) are cutting through her, giving an unpleasant, uneven look to her head. When it comes to portraits there is some work involved, for both the photographer and the model. Your responsibility is to deliver a flattering, well executed photograph, and all tho this is a good photo, it is neither flattering or well composed. One example of flattering and well composed photo, from your gallery, would be this: :thumb604563744: It brings out the model's thin face and body without distracting elements or too much contrast in the background.
Also avoid using f/8 in portraits unless you have very pleasing surroundings that might complete the photograph, otherwise use f/2 - f/4 and focus on the eyes (unless you think focusing on the lips would make a bigger impact).
You have a good camera, get out of auto mode and experiment with it, both with settings and composition, it will help you grow.

Lovely portrait! I really like the pose of the model and how her lips are a bright colour. It is a really good thing that you adjusted your perspective to her level, it makes the image very interesting to look at!
