I actually had an idea moments ago and spent a few moments gathering this up. Thinking back to Wipeout Omega HD and Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, I had to draw up these versions of Blue Falcon.

What I propose as an idea for the F-Zero franchise, is to adopt "machine variants." Customization has always been within the series, since F-Zero X Expansion Kit in 2000, and so I thought about this: basically giving your machine different methods to play tracks. Perhaps to swap out the usual machine settings as seen in most games. You would no longer be able to choose whether Blue Falcon goes for all Acceleration or all Max Speed with this idea.

That's where the other forms come in.

Blue Falcon is pretty much standard.

"Armor Falcon" is a beefier version of Blue Falcon. Has a stronger body and higher max speed. BUT loses out on some boost. It almost even seems like a discount Fire Stingray.

"Pegasus Falcon" would be the high movement version. In exchange for durability and a sure top speed, you get stronger boost and handling. Not to mention, you would be better at managing your time in the air.

I propose that each race you get the option to choose the variant you want to use. However, it should also be possible that other pilots would sometimes employ different variants as well (fanciful, I know. But it would add some unpredictability with the usually tough AI and keep races more strategic).

Additionally, it should be possible to unlock more variants. In this case, the "Super Falcon" from F-Zero X should FINALLY be made an unlockable for players to obtain as an example.
