This is my part of an art trade with . I went with the theme of Starr and MM having a duet. The abstract background was kind of inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night."

There's a way to achieve the same effect with Photoshop; I have a technique that I used to use with the pen tool set on "Shape Layers". Instead of stroking the pen tool selection, I'd go back and manually create a line, or shape to form the lines. If you want an easier way, I'd suggest just completely tracing over a sketch with the pen tool set on "Shape Layers", then go in and add individual details.
