There is more than one kind of family.

I use to describe my family as just my biological parents and sibling, but the older I have become, I have realised that family for me shouldn't be so strictly defined.

My friends are my family. They enrich my life so much and they are always there when I need them.

And my former host family in Japan, I call them family too. I even called them my Japanese mum, dad and little sis too. One day when I was having some issues, my Japanese dad gathered the family around and said (translated from Japanese): "I know that you are here for study but when you are here with us, you are our daughter".
