Description
This is my entry for Godzillasamurai's [link] little contest. I usually don't enter contests, I'm not even sure if this is eligible since it is not a drawing. Any way on to the description and stuff.

Name: Barakon (Bara-con)
Height: 38 meters (42 at the shoulder)
Length: 100 meters
Mass: 20,000 metric tons
Powers: Can breath fire hot enough to melt stone. Horns, teeth, and claws. Has nearly impenetrable armored scales, especially resistant to heat. Can emit a high frequency screech that can stun other monsters. Crushing jaws. Can fly at speeds a little under mach 1. Can move very fast on land and to a much lesser extent in water. Can survive and move in lava.

Weaknesses: Can't handle cold, if he gets too cold he starts to slow down before going into a state of deep hibernation. His underbelly is weaker than his back, it is still heat resistant but can be pierced. His scales can't handle rapid dramatic temperature change so if he were exposed to severe cold after coming out of lava, his scales would crack and leave him venerable. Though he can move fairly well in water, he can only do so when is wings are folded up, so if he were to be knocked into water before he had a chance to fold up his wings, he'd become very ungainly in the water. Certain frequency sounds can disorient him while others can enrage him.

Origin/bio: It is unknown exactly where he comes from. Some believe that he is the last surviving member of some offshoot species of dinosaur, which is why some scientists classify him as a Chiropterasaurus. Others believe that he is some mutated dinosaur or other prehistoric creature, which is partially substantiated by the fact that his body does contain small traces of radiation. Others believe him to be some kind of space monster since his armor scales are partially silicon based.

Best described as a loner, Barakon prefers to stay isolated in his volcanic lair in the Philippines. Unusually intelligent for a large reptile, he is able to properly grasp weather those entering his territory are a threat or not, though he will on occasion attack unthreatening things that enter his territory seemingly for the mere fun of it. He also uses this intelligence while fighting other monsters to come up with semi complex strategies which he can change on the fly, quite literally in some cases. He normally stays away from the other monsters but will fight alongside them if the Earth is threated by an alien invasion or something. He also won't start a battle unless threated.

edit:Has very good hearing and a form of eco-location, so he can "see" without using his eyes if need be.
