In Smash Bros Ultimate, these are like, false bodies of the fighters, that contains a spirit of another character (like Shantae spirit in a copy of Zero Suit Samus) all of those copies with spirits do have red glowing eyes

Right now we don't really know much about it, I don't know if the spirits are bad, or if they are forced to fight in other bodies (we saw everyone "dying" except Kirby, that include the characters that just became spirits and fight inside body copies of the cast)

According to the in-game text, Galeem (the big villain who zapped everyone) is holding the spirits captive and forcing them to possess copies of the fighters in order to take down the heroes.

She's already a Spirit, though.Β Why would Nintendo make a Spirit into a full-fledged fighter?Β At least she made it into the game!

I know, and so would I, but in hindsight, it wouldn't make sense for Nintendo to bring in a character who's already being represented as a Spirit.Β There are probably still plenty of characters out there to choose from.

Not gonna lie, Samus looks amazing in Shantae's outfit, and she has the skills and athleticism to dance like her too. Still a little sad our half-genie hero didn't make it, but who knows? If they can create a good moveset, she might be DLC; if not, then this acknowledgement will do.
