Description
Here is the first thing I ever drew on my wacom intuos3 tablet. She's an original elf character of mine whose name is currently being rethought. She is daydreaming. ^^ I'm proud to have this as a part of my Classics Collection.

Really? Its just a rough sketch. The only reason I'm particularly proud of it is because it's the first sketch I did for a particular original character of mine.

Tablets help make digital work far easier due to their natural feel, but they only help if you already know what you're doing or are willing to learn. Alot of people, especially younger people, have the notion that simply owning an expensive, high-tech piece of merchandize makes them better artists or makes their art better. While it has the capacity to bring out your talents and qualities and gives you access to more options with your art, it doesn't do the job for you.
This is sad when people don't realize things like this and they go buy name-brand pencils, markers, pens, tablets, etc., and then let these things just sit there and collect dust because they had a rude awakening and were too frustrated to continue. Sorry for the rant, but it is something that is somewhat of a pet peeve.

Nicely said. And I totally agree. I'd love to own a tablet but on the other hand I sometimes feel that digital art has taken over traditional means. Granted, you can come up with some wonderful stuff digitaly, and yes, that is the world we live in today, lots of new technology and such, but people have been producing beautiful works of art by hand for hundreds of thousands of years. Cave men didn't have templates
