One more pinup of Vivian before I take a break to draw some other things. I haven't decided whether she is actually a professional boxer or just includes boxing as part of her exercise regime. Either way, I think the gloves suit her. What do you think?

Vivian is the best. I love that short hair that falls all the way past her jawline. I love her general proportions and how she looks like she's unafraid of taking hits. She'd be a tough customer in the ring, for sure - I bet she'd be super difficult to knock down or out.Β

Yeah, she'd definitely be tough in the ring. And that's part of why I like having her be shy/reserved in personality, since it counter balances her bashful nature with her physical ability. In general, I get alot of inspiration for these types of characters from the Rocky films. Rocky Balboa is a simple man, a kind man, and works hard. When he fights, he fights for a reason. He's very simple, but complex, and Vivian is the same way in some regards.

Thank you! Yeah, her build definitely helps sell the visual that she looks like a boxer, whether she actually is or not. As for the tones, yes, that's true. I want to get better at implying shape on contour with less lines. When I do use lines, it's mainly in the outline, and I use a painting method to render the skin and muscles. Since Vivian has brown skin, it's easier to work with warm and medium tones.
