Description
I'm completely new to Painter, so I decided to make some new designs for practice. Some of you remember my story "Orpheus: The Darkness of Night"? No? Yes?
Anyways, this is Prometheus, Orpheus' older brother. He's a dragon as well, but chances are he'll appear in the story in human form. So here you have him!
Ffffff. I can't wait for him to appear! >:U
Also, if you have any tips or tutorials for Painter 12, SHARE PLEASE! Because I can't seem to find out how it works at times. xD

Love the face/mask? design <3
I am a Painter painter, but I use a really old version of it (Painter 3) so I'm not sure my experience is of much help. No idea how much Painter 12 is different -but I imagine a lot- but my favourite painting tool/brush is actually the Blender. A tool I sorely miss in PS, which is why I only use Photoshop to change colours/enhance contrast/do fancy artsy fartsy things with and Painter to do the actually legwork.

Yes, it's a mask. C: Thankies!
Oh, everything you can say about Painter are helpful. <:
I've been told that Painter 12 is much more advanced than Painter 10 even. So I guess there is a lot of changes. I've tried out a few blenders, and the results are quite amazing. I can imagine Painter and PS being quite a team. As you say, PS is quite good to make the final touchups.
I could try to experiment some more, but I can't seem to find some proper watercolor brushes. :v

They sure make a great team! Photoshop would have been the only program I'd use if only it wasn't such a hassle to blend colours what with changing opacity, using pressure sensitivy and changing the hardness to achieve what Painter does with one stroke. I'm not sure there's much more about Painter I could tell you though. I really only use two brushes. The digital airbrush to add a dot of colour and the blender to go over it to basically paint with, unless I need to do detailing, which I use my digital airbrush for again.
I have rather unconventional painting methods... I blame it on being self-taught and having had no experience with traditional media. Because that is basically what Painter excels at, replicating traditional media. So I'm basically useless haha. Maybe someone with a better understanding of the various brushes could help you
