Description After learning SAI and seeing the greatness of it. I just had to share it with all my friends. And so I made a tutorial to show them even more of the greatness.
And to also show those like me with bad hand-eye co-oridination thus bad line-art the greatness of it!
It's just THAT GREAT!

So Sai Line-Art Tutorial.

Edit: OKAY PEOPLE STOP FAVING THIS SERIOUSLY! Do you know how old this is? How badly it was written? How badly it was drawn? How bored I was for making it and how much better other tutorials out there are? I mean come on... STOP FAVING THIS!

If you hold alt and middle click, then the dots will stop being selected (red) and won't all be erased

The thing that pisses me off is that photoshop, despite being more powerful in basically every way, doesn't have a line tool like SAI. Normally it's not a problem, but sai doesn't have a smudge tool, which is a huge problem.

IAMBROKEZ In reply to emil-bee [2012-06-24 18:16:42 +0000 UTC]

this is what i do:
first i scan it, and drag the scanned image onto my desktop. then, when you open up SAI go to file. click open. search for the scanned image and press open. there you go!

I really need help: I was working on the vector/linework layer when I accidentally pressed the Shift key while on the pen tool. It had made a square box, and when I released, the little dots became bigger and red. How do I get rid of them?

XxxNekoxShoujoxxX In reply to FlutterTown [2012-02-11 17:21:54 +0000 UTC]

what you have to do is when you have your new canvas/page up, go to where the layer/s are - there's 2 rows of icons there, on the top row of icons above the layers, there's one that looks like a blank page, and next to it on the right, there's an icon that looks like a page with a small pen on it, click on that and it'll create a vector layer, on vector layers you can use the line tools, i hope that made sense! ^_^
