↠Before Before Birth

Her mother, Sunny, lived in a pack of new Guinea Singing Dogs. She left because she disliked the rules and wanted to be free and lead her own life. She tried convening her sister as well. Though her sister stayed behind, she din't stand in Sunny's way. She knew how unhappy she was living with the dogs of their pack and under requirement. She eventually ran into Yellowstone, whose parents had done the same from the pack. She lived with his family until they decided to go off and live with each other as mates. They loved each other, Yellowstone tended to be stubborn and sensitive, but he tended to listen to her more openly and Sunny seemed to take the leading role more often. Yellowstone started overcoming his sensitivity to words. Sometimes Sunny, being a bit of an introvert, even wanted some time alone from him. If it was from being drained and aggravated from a fight they had, it'd give her time to think and she would usually ether come back feeling very guilty and apologetic, or certain she was right.. in that case she's usually still softer after her alone time, but sometimes not so much.
Sunny missed her sister, and so she convened Yellowstone returned to the pack's territory to visit her. (one example of a thing that triggered them to argue)
Sunny was uncertain if she wanted pups back when they first decided to become mates, Yellowstone had told her it was okay if they took it slow, after all, it wasn't the main reason he wanted her. And they where sure they'd both be ready one day. And, sure enough, after about a year of being together, they decided they where ready.

↠Offspring-Adolescents

Sunny gave birth to a single pup. As unready and uncertain as Sunny had been and dreamy and ready Yellowstone had been, around the time and after Buttercup was born, they'd seemed to have had swapped places. It didn't take to long for them to discover their daughter's quirkyness. She squirmed all over the place before she could walk, and when she could walk she seemed to have endless energy, hopping and running around, tail wagging and usually panting for breath. Her tossing and turning at night got even worse. Her curiosity and interest and excitement added to her hyperness resulted in her running off sometimes; a lot of times, usually by accident. To their surprise even with all her energy and the many times she crouched into playful positions looking up at them, she disliked wrestling and play fighting and found it confusing. Racing, however, she absolutely loved. (even if she lost unless they let her win dew to her puppy legs.)
Before she could talk she'd squicked and mumbled a lot, when she could talk, she started talking a lot. Often too much, and to strangers. Sunny got the most frustrated with her and reproved her sternly. Buttercup had inharited her father's sensitivity, it hurt her until she cried, which hurt Yellowstone far more than anything directed to him could to see her that way. He tried to be softer on her. Sunny still thought she needed to learn and toughen up, if she didn't, she'd be like this forever.
Then Buttercup decided squirrels and things where cute and she didn't want to learn to hunt. She kind of started feeling guilty and creeped out by eating things. Her parents were already struggling and arguing and fighting to raise her right, and so things just started getting worse, especially when Buttercup scard her paw pad once and frecked out not just because of the pain but because the blood reminded her of the things she was supposed to eat and she started comparing herself to them more and thought of things like 'what if squirrels where actually just like us and talk to each other?' and that it must hurt when they destroy them. And what if something where to attack her or her parents like that? Her parents got quite concerned when she started asking questions about death. It wasn't new for her to talk about obscure things, but they weren't expecting to have to explain such darkness to their pup while she was this young. Some questions they didn't have awnsers too, it made them wander and realized. Buttercup got really upset for weeks. Her parents regretted telling her. She was scared of both eating and not eating, but her parents convinced her to keep eating. At least she liked the flavors. She still didn't want to hunt, even moreso now and her parents didn't know what to do.
They all cared about each other, but one winter the stress was getting overwhelming. They seemed to just be hurting each other more and more. Sunny and Yellowstone decided they didn't know how to parent, at least not Buttercup. Sunny convinced Yellowstone they should bring Buttercup to Sunny's sister and see if she and the pack could raise her.
After Sunny's sister agreed, they went back to their territory. They talked a lot. They considered that maybe they weren't meant to be. The thought had kept coming up over and over again for a long time. Sunny didn't want to leave him alone or break his heart again, but Yellowstone knew they couldn't keep this up. They where both sick and tired of hurting each other, even after they tried so hard. With or without their daughter, it wouldn't work out right. And so they left, thought they could still visit each other.
Yellowstone never liked aloneness like she had. It was cold, but he'd get used to it.
He visited Buttercup; who was so excited and happy and sad when she saw him, he himself wept. Just to see his puppy this way and have someone who still clung to him even if he knew he couldn't cling to her. He didn't want to leave her heartbroken thinking she did something wrong again, but he did. From what he'd heard, it seemed like things would indeed work out better for Buttercup once she got over him.
Yellowstone explored around a bit more out of him and Sunny's previous territory and found a shead in a person's backyard. He was tired and cold and it looked safe (He hadn't encountered hoomans before) so he slept there, only to wake up to a minitur hyouman petting him. The thingy clearly wasn't trying to hurt him and looked happy for some reason so he didn't know what to think. Maybe it was like Buttercup with it's enthusiasm about strangers. He backed off from it and the human went off only to come back with a slightly bigger one. They had dog food because of their dog they took out to him. He hesitated, but they didn't seem to want to hurt him and where offering him food so he took it and they started petting him again which felt good but was weird. He ended up making friends with them and came back sometimes ke visit and get free food. He soon discovered that they had another dog who loved them and let him know he could definitely trust them.
He also visited Sunny, who missed him but seemed happier, and Buttercup, who he thought about a lot. Maybe he could do it; take her back and raise her on his own. He could do better. He would give whatever it took if he could have a second chance to make things right. Buttercup was his child. He should be the one there for her, and with the humans who gave him strange free food, maybe she wouldn't have to hunt.
So he decided to ask to take her back.
The humans would play with them in the backyard and feed them and eventually they completely took them in and let them inside and gave them collars.
Now that the world was softer, things where finally starting to work out with Buttercup.
Although, although the other d dog got along pretty well work Yellowstone, he found Buttercup annoying, and most of the time Yellowstone didn't blame him; he found Buttercup to be quite confusing and still a bit of a handful, he couldn't help but agree with him a lot of the time about her, which made Buttercup a nervous wreck about what they thought of her and wanted her to be.

↠Adult
Buttercup's awkwardness continued and continued to annoy , but overall they lived a pretty good life, until Yellowstone had health issues as the humans had financial issues and they couldn't afford it, so they found someone who could to take care of him.
They don't know why Yellowstone disappeared, no matter how long they waited he didn't return, and the humans where sad so they decided to be sad and that he probably wasn't coming back.
Things where a lot colder without her father. Seemed to dislike her more even. The humans where nice but they couldn't talk or understand her.
Eventually it was found out that they where illegally keeping a New Guinea singing dog and so they took Buttercup away.
She was confused and lonely and didn't want to have to kill to survive. Maybe this was what happened with her father. Maybe she could find him again!
She searched, for him and the humans, but found nether.
