Looks great, certainly follows the concept, but a little too new/unused... The cables are a nice touch.

Haha you always want to see things all rusty and f*ckd up! But maybe you're right.. I tried to give some scratches and dust stains everywhere, but maybe that wasn't enough.. :b Thank you for your feedback, always welcome!

Mr-Nike In reply to ??? [2012-07-04 19:55:04 +0000 UTC]

That looks incredibly awesome! I love the little detail things like the cables on the floor, that is really the ''finishing touch'' and makes it look very realistic, and not just a ''normal render'' if you know what I mean It looks awesome! Great job! And little details like the grid on the floor, are those textured or all modelled? Keep up the good work!

Hey Nike! Thank you very much for your comment (and for faving the image, and for the watch )!

Well, those little details are not my merit! :b I don't know if you noticed the image's description, but this is just a translation to 3D of a 2D concept image! Be sure to check the original one by Billy Wimblett!

About the grid on the floor, that is a transparency map
Anything else you want to ask, feel free to do so

Again, thank you very much!

Mr-Nike In reply to TheSphinx [2012-07-04 22:00:33 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's amazing! I've been collecting textures for several years and a large part of my hard disk is filled with that xD You rendered it out really nice, the detail looks very natural and not ''ooh that's just textured'' at all! I also love the original drawing, you did a great job on recreating it!

And you're more then welcome, it's the least I can do, it sounds ad,, but this image opened up new ideas for me, just by seeing the cable on the ground... it's a level of detail I never noticed, but it's really the finishing touch So thanks for that anyway!

All the best to you!

I'm really glad, Nike! Thank you very much for the kind words! ^^
You may want to take a look at this other artwork of mine (recreated after a 2D concept as well), it is still my favourite so far: [Gallery]

All the best to you too!

lighting is superb
great soft effect near the stairs

very nice mental ray or Vray for rendering?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSphinx In reply to DracheGott [2012-07-02 00:43:12 +0000 UTC]

Thank you mental ray!

DracheGott In reply to TheSphinx [2012-07-02 01:03:29 +0000 UTC]

I'm starting to learn Vray and so far I think it's great and more realistic lighting than mental ray as well as faster render times
