Yeah dude, Akira is FUCKING EXCELLENT. The manga is such an undertaking to read, but man oh man does that series get impossible to put down. The movie is obviously awesome in every way, the manga read like a fucking film storyboard. SO FLUID

Jesus christ, since working in the design industry and seeing how long production and idea pitching takes no wonder it took so long to produce, but they have been talking about this and that shitty DBZ film since I was about 12 or 13.
There was a massive anime explosion over here back then, and it seems like they've missed the boat.

In the manga I really love the clown leader, he's really grown on me over time. My local comic shop had about 12 figures of him they couldn't budge and I didn't want one before I read the manga, now I can't find one anywhere

haha! I have given that same figure as a present to so many friends! We see a lot of them coming through the comic shop I work at, but, actually... now that you mention it, I haven't physically held one since probably last fall? wow. I wonder if I should have held on to one for myself. All those McFarlane Akira figures are AWESOME though. Especially Kaneda's bike! coooooollllllll ~~~~!!

shit, dude, I am all over this. I used to play this game all the time. Trade whatever! Whatever you want! I could totally draw you some Akira. I'm doing an Akira commission for someone anyway, my floor is littered with ideas. What I like to do is a little piece, like approximately postcard size, 3.5'' x 5'' or so, and just pop it in the snail mail to your faraway doorstep. Nothin too fancy or complicated, but something fun, a nice little thing, with minimal color. I personally also love Akira. I also also love OCB. (I mean, if you wanted to draw Solano and Newberg, I don't know, like... lifting weights together or something... I WOULD BE DOWN. o_o)
