Remember that scene in Super Smash Bros Brawl ? ^^

Though I got back to playing TotK after months, this scene showed clear in my mind and I wanted to illustrate it! It's kind of favourite from SSBB, when he's falling backwards in that T-pose, with that relaxed expression of trust in his Goddess!

There's more than in the actual screenshot, though, like the legs. :')

I didn't realise how closely I'd relate to this piece when I sketched it. But as you may know, my financial side and partly emotional side is in kind of turmoil atm (it doesn't help that my grandma got ill just recently... and my parent(s) in burnout, and having some low vibes under same roof), I'm glad I can find my peace when I immerse into the art process. Like painting.

(Usually at night, like last time I worked this to 3A.M, it was just so flowy and meditative along with the simple kalimba beat. )

And now I truly feel like Pitto, the unable-to-fly-on-his-own-angel, standing at the edge of heaven, heeding the call of duty, and you just have to surrender to trust that you'll make it through or that the Goddess will help you with it. Even though you can't see what you're going to face. You can't see how deep is the fall. You gotta trust anyway.

That the universe is with you, and supporting you, even at the hardest moments.

And all it takes is trust, because you cannot control everything. Trust that it'll turn out all right, in the end.

Miracles happen, to those who can believe in them.

Miracles happen to those who are open-minded. And.

Miracles happen to those who have the courage to let go (of control), and trust that even if they fell, they can fly.

Don't give up hope!

I know I've not done much Pitto though I do like him too. I picture him and Burapi like siblings or symbolic light and shadow. But as I don't usually dress in much white, I've also found illustrating characters with lot of it like somewhat "nah". Maybe, I just have a useless belief system in there.

(Sidenote:

Noticed that he uses his bow in different hand in SSB than in the original 3DS game. His outfit is also more detailed in SSB and SSBB has only his one hand with the glove-like cover, but in later series he has those black ones in both hands.)

But this piece was so clear in my mind, I wanted to do it.

And experimented making the white have more colour, like in shading, at least if those clothes are silk or similar fabric they do reflect quite some colour in certain light, like sunset. The screenshot gave me a hint to that. I just applied my own knowledge of fabrics further.

Tools: H pencil, 1999 Camel Watercolours Mumbai India (no white opaque or guache, I'm surprised!)

For music inspiration, I've fallen in love with (elemental) Koshi bells, wind chimes and kalimba etc. recently.

So meditative, especially Calm Whale's!
