     “I don’t want to see you. I don’t want to hear from you. You were never there and never will be. I will not be treated as a last resort.” She took a threatening step forward, causing Thiroe to flinch slightly. She paused, realizing that her anger was projecting from the frightened pup she used to be. Her father was not a cruel memory like her mother, but she did not share fondness with him either. If it was not her mother’s stern words, then it was her father's lack of action against the unjust Calypso suffered at the paws of her siblings and mother. He was an accomplice.

    Calypso saw the guard shift behind Thiroe, seeming to grow bored with this family dispute. Glaring at Thiroe, she breathed sharply through her nose. Calypso did not usually care about the Condamné status of others, but this was family, and she refused to let her connections with Thiroe destroy what she had built for herself.

    “Do not seek me out again. For I do not know you - and you certainly don’t know me.” With that said, Calypso spun on her heels and headed back in the direction of her den. She would not stop again until she reached the entrance. She did not hear the echo of paw steps this time, and when she looked back for the last time, she saw that Thiroe and his guard were gone as if never there.

This (again) is a piece I've had done for a while and Im still proud of the outcome. I've wanted to work with dynamic lighting lately hence the intense colors/lighting. The pup represents the younger Calypso and the mindset that Calypso is speaking from. She never could stand up for herself when she was younger, and while her emotions now may look like she is lashing out, Calypso senses those old feelings resurfacing and speaks from her heart.
