Description
Prompt: The journey begins with a single step.
Summary
Juko, despite his imposing appearance, displayed unwavering obedience in his class. Following the instructions of his new environment, he diligently attended kindergarten classes, directing his focus toward the education relevant to his newfound home rather than relying on the survival skills he had honed over years. With a clear vision of what he aspired to achieve, he awaited the moment when Meister Minna would guide him to be sorted and assigned.
The short instructor expressed surprise as she led him to Mitteling Raban, a wolf whom Juko had not yet encountered. "I must say, I'm surprised you're not pursuing our Warden position. You certainly don't lack the skills," she remarked, prompting a gruff and deep response from Juko. He explained that he no longer wished to inflict harm, a sentiment that earned him a mere glance from his fair teacher.
Approaching Raban's autumn den, Juko, towering over the diminutive wolf, was subjected to scrutiny. Although he stood taller, he felt looked down upon. Standing at attention beside Minna, she explained Juko's interest in joining the Arzat, and how Raban, with his unique set of skills, would oversee his training. Raban, less than pleased, reluctantly accepted the responsibility, despite his initial unwillingness and a visible lack of enthusiasm.
With Minna passing off her student to his new teacher and offering a blunt wish of good luck, Juko found himself in the autumn silence with Raban. Another judgmental glance was cast his way before Raban turned towards his Arzat quarters without uttering a word. Juko, undeterred, chose to follow. Throughout the day, he remained a silent spectator, observing his new mentor at work with Namün herbs and remedies. Initially ignored, his questions were met with silence as Raban clung to his displeasure. Yet, undeterred by the judgment stemming from his origins, Juko maintained patience, determined to earn his teacher's favor and become a valuable asset to his newfound home.
